OPPORTUNITY EQUALS CHOICES
CHOICES EQUALS SUCCESS
We don't practice fighting. We practice
strategies for life. All of life is a contact. When that
contract is broken, you only have two choices. You can
sit down at the negotiation table or step onto the battlefield. The battlefield should be avoided but sometimes it
cannot be. We must be very careful not to step onto the enemy’s
battlefield where he has the advantage of native soil
and knowledge of the land; we must take him to our battlefield.
We must know when and when not to engage the enemy. Most schools teach a certain response to a certain attack. We do not. The enemy will not know what to expect of us. We may fight, we may not. It may be an outside, inside, or ground fight. We train all the zones and study the enemy. Only with knowledge of the enemy can we avoid the battle. Many times battles are fought over the wrong reasons or misunderstandings. If someone tells you to screw off, don't get too upset. He is upset for a reason. Maybe you are at fault and owe him an apology. Maybe he just received bad news or lost money. Maybe his ego has been slaughtered and now he has to prove something. Everyone has a reason to be upset and they lash out because they are not in control. By training for life and death battles, by training in the highest and most disciplined way, we can avoid ego attacks and try to find a peaceful resolve even if we have to look like the meek. We are deceptive. What looks like prey soon becomes the predator. This can only be obtained through many years of study. The physical fight is a battle of genetics, aggression, ego, and luck. The master wins the fight on a mental battlefield. The master knows what will happen before it happens by drawing on intense study of human nature, emotions, and an in depth study of other styles. The true master can predict the future by virtue of experience. The knowledge of the future allows the master to diffuse the attack before the attacker moves. | ||||
